Drive from seaport to Archaeological Museum of the Banco Central featuring pre-Columbian artifacts left by the Manta culture, from whom the city takes its name. Drive by the scenic seaside promenade to the tuna factory for a half-hour visit, and then continue to Montecristi home of the famous Panama hats and many more handicrafts. This is a unique opportunity to observe the artisans working at their different handicrafts and to stroll around the central square. Visit the picturesque church of Montecristi and the Tagua factory (vegetable ivory) before heading back to Manta.
